EMinima stands for Elearning Minima, solutions for people who are eager to do elearning but lack the budget. It is also for people with funds, like educators, who simply want to be more efficient - why spend a lot for a ton of hardware and little efficiency? Instead, spend a little on EMinima and get loads of efficiency in return!

EMinima is also a program for bringing the power of modern computing to the grassroots - in fact,Eminima is built from community-supported technologies. The technologies that Eminima uses come from many developer communities, foremost being the Puppy Linux developer community. EMinima's headquarters is at UPLB Philippines and is supported by Free/Open-Source-Software (FOSS) developers and many other entities committed to social development.
The current package of EC-tech includes the following:
- MiniPup - a desktop package with powerful modern software such as Firefox browser, Mplayer media player, GIMP image manipulator, Scribus desktop publisher, Gnumeric spreadsheet, Abiword text editor, and many other desktop applications, all in 85 MB! The current version of MiniPup is 2.02R. This desktop package will work in both old and new PCs.
- OpenOffice Add-on - OpenOffice 1.1.5 is available as 72-MB add-on to MiniPup. Just save the package beside your save file and reboot - you will be able to use office files and even the new Open Document format.
- Apache + PHP server with Eminima scripts - Available as another add-on, the server package enables educators to autonomously create and deploy Internet-ready content to their constituents.
The first two components of EC-tech are available as free downloads, while the server package is available to teachers and educational institutions on request. The first two components are mainly useful for PCs being used as clients. The server package can be deployed in the same PC, but problems in the local network may develop with its use, hence, careful tutorial of users is recommended before its deployment.
